What does WELCA stand for?: Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. As a community of women Created in the image of God, Called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and Empowered by the Holy Spirit, We commit ourselves to Grow in faith Affirm our gifts, Support one another in our callings, Engage in ministry and action, and Promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society,and the world.
What is their purpose? : To know and do the will of our Lord Jesus Christ by:
1. Inspiring in the individual member a deeper consecration To our Savior;
2. Developing stewardship of time, talents, and treasures;
3. Disseminating knowledge of the program of the church of Jesus Christ, particularly the Evangelical Lutheran Church;
4. Spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world.

We hope everyone will feel free to come in and see what goes on at “Do Day”. Some people put blankets/ quilts together; others tie them through and some work at the sewing machines to finish off the edges. There are no special talents needed but a lot of fellowship and fun during our various jobs of also sorting, ironing, and clipping. We have a lot of fun during the coffee and lunch time. So come for an hour or more and help or just see what we’re doing.
